【摘要】:Fourseparatetestmethodsareoutlinedforuseinevaluationofmattressinnerspringorboxspringunits,orboth.Thesetestmethodsincludemeasurementsoffirmness,firmnessretention,durability,effectofimpact,etc.Oneormoreofthetestmethodsshallbeusedseparatelyorincombinationtoprovideforappropriateevaluations.1.1Thesetestmethodscovernationallyrecognizedmethodsfortestingmattressinnerspringsandboxspringstoensureuniformityofresults.1.2Thesetestmethodsareapplicabletoun-upholsteredinnerspringsandboxspringsonlyandarenotapplicabletofinishedupholsteredmattressesorboxsprings.Anyconclusionscoveringsuchitemsareoutsidethescopeofthesetestmethods.1.3Thedurabilitytest(Section7),impacttest(Section8)andfirmnessretentiontest(Section9)requiretheuseofanupholsteredinnerspringorboxspring,orboth.Astandardizedupholsteryisspecifiedineachcase.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
